Chilly and Veg Bonda Recipe :
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup besan
- 1 onion chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped carrot
- 1/4 cup chopped cabbage
- 1/4 cup chopped french beans
- 1/4 cup chopped capsicum
- Oil for fry
- Salt to test
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Water to make uttapama batter consistency
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- A pinch of backing soda
- 1 tsp chicken masala or garam masala
- 1 tsp soya sauce
- 1 tsp chili sauce
- 2 tsp tomato sauce
Method:
1. Heat the pan, put 1 tbsp oil, cumin seeds, onion, carrot, cabbage, french beans, capcicum, turmeric powder amd salt. Mix them all and cover it for 10 minutes on a low flame.
2. When it got nicely cooked then add soya sauce, chilli sauce and tomato sauce and stir for 2 mins.
3. Add 1/2 tsp of chicken masala and mix them all and cover with lid.
4. Thake about 2 tsp of that mixture and make a round ball. Like that make all the balls.
5. In a bowl put basan, cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp chicken masala, salt, backing soda, water and mix them well and make a semi solid batter.
6. In that batter put those veggie balls and deep-fry the bondas in hot oil till they are golden brown in color.
6. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Serve hot with onion, green and red chutney.
HANDY TIPS:
1. Always put 1 small drop of the batter in hot oil to check if the oil is hot enough or not.
2. Fry 4 bondas at a time to get evenly cooking.
